Bartering Village
The bartering village is the hub of our experiment with alternative economics. The goal of these exchanges are: connectivity with the maker of a product; a revaluation of goods and services, and creating a space where our gifts and skills can be celebrated. We’ll set up some tables for folks interested in trading and sharing what they have made or aquired. We’re hoping to create a relational way to share our skills, resources, and time. Be sure to pack anything you would like to share with other as we build a village based on the work of our hands and hearts.
There will be no PAPA (H)ours this year. To find out more about why- check out the PAPA (H)ours page.
If you’re interested in seeing if someone is able to provide a particular good or service, or to see if there is interest in a skill of yours, be sure to check out our forum.
This forum is one way to continue our gift-based economy during the rest of the year. You can use it to:
- Arrange trades for our physical Bartering Village in advance.
- Continue our gift-based economy outside of PAPA Fest.
- If you still have PAPAs and would like to trade them, this could be the place to do it. This is also a place to trade in other ways: barter goods, services, USD, etc.
- Above all we'd like to see this experiment move beyond the symbolic- into genuine support and exchange of our gifts.
