We have reached our limit of 1,000 people. If you're confused about the limitation, here are a few of the reasons for the cap:

• To allow the festival to grow slowly and healthfully. The gathering in 2006 had around 650 folks. We feel that having 1,000 people is a growth in numbers that we can accommodate.
• To honor our hosts and their community. We will more than double the population of the town where the 2008 festival will be held.
• To care for the earth. Our hosts are farmers and are directly connected to the health of their land. One thousand people (two thousand feet) can do a lot of damage to land simply by walking around. We want to minimize that effect.
• To keep the festival small enough to be personal. We have no desire to become a mega gathering with multiple-thousand people present.
• Quality not quantity. We want to pull off the festival well.
